Example 1. Inputs:

Results:

  • Days until Cyber Monday: 53 days
  • Date of Cyber Monday: Monday, November 30, 2026
  • Weeks and days: 7 weeks, 4 days

How this is worked out: Nov 1 2026 is a Sunday (Jan 1 is a Thursday, Nov 1 is day 305, 304 mod 7 = 3 days later). Thursdays: Nov 5, 12, 19, 26, so Thanksgiving (4th Thursday) is Nov 26 and Cyber Monday is Nov 26 + 4 = Nov 30. Oct 8 to Oct 31 = 23, plus 30 = 53.

Example 2. Inputs:

Results:

  • Days until Cyber Monday: 0 days
  • Date of Cyber Monday: Monday, November 30, 2026
  • Weeks and days: 0 weeks, 0 days
  • Note: Cyber Monday is on the day you picked, so there are 0 days to go.

How this is worked out: Cyber Monday 2026 is Nov 30 (see above), so counting from it gives 0.

Example 3. Inputs:

  • Count from: December 1, 2026

Results:

  • Days until Cyber Monday: 363 days
  • Date of Cyber Monday: Monday, November 29, 2027
  • Weeks and days: 51 weeks, 6 days

How this is worked out: Nov 1 2027 is a Monday (2026 has 365 days, weekday moves on 1). Thursdays: Nov 4, 11, 18, 25, so Thanksgiving is Nov 25 and Cyber Monday is Nov 29. Dec 1 2026 to Dec 1 2027 = 365 days; Nov 29 is 2 days earlier: 363.

Example 4. Inputs:

  • Count from: November 30, 2025

Results:

  • Days until Cyber Monday: 1 day
  • Date of Cyber Monday: Monday, December 1, 2025
  • Weeks and days: 0 weeks, 1 day

How this is worked out: Nov 1 2025 is a Saturday (one weekday back from 2026's Sunday). Thursdays: Nov 6, 13, 20, 27, so Thanksgiving is Nov 27 and Cyber Monday is Nov 27 + 4 = Dec 1 (it falls in December). Nov 30 to Dec 1 = 1 day.

Limitations

  • Uses US Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday of November). Canadian Thanksgiving is not used.
  • Counts whole calendar days and ignores time zones and the time of day.
