Cycle Per Second Converters

Convert cycles per second to hertz, kilohertz, megahertz, gigahertz, terahertz, millihertz, RPM, radians per second and other frequency units.

What this tool does

Convert cycles per second to hertz, kilohertz, megahertz, gigahertz, terahertz, millihertz, RPM, radians per second and other frequency units. Type an amount in cycles per second, choose the units, and the tool converts it to hertz. It offers 13 frequency units and also shows the same amount in the others.

Inputs

  • Value: A number.
  • From: Choose one from 13 options, including Cycle per second, Hertz, Kilohertz, Megahertz, Gigahertz, Terahertz. Starts as Cycle per second.
  • To: Choose one of the same 13 units as "From". Starts as Hertz.

How to use

  1. Enter the amount you want to convert.
  2. Choose the unit to convert from and the unit to convert to.
  3. Read the result: the converted amount and the same amount in the other units. It appears once every required field has a valid value.

Worked examples

Cycles per second and hertz are the same size, so the number does not change: an amount in cycles per second is the same amount in hertz.

Limitations

  • Converts the unit of a frequency only. It does not work out wavelength, period or photon energy.
  • One revolution is counted as one cycle, so rpm and cycles per minute are the same size.
  • Radians per second and degrees per second are angular frequency: one cycle is 2 pi radians or 360 degrees.

FAQs

Q: Is a cycle per second the same as a hertz?
A: Yes. The hertz is defined as one cycle per second, so the two units are equal for any value.
Q: How do I convert cycles per second to RPM?
A: Pick cycle per second as the From unit and revolution per minute as the To unit. One cycle per second is 60 revolutions per minute.
