Worked examples

Conversions from centipoise to pascal seconds:

  • 1 cP = 0.001 Pa·s
  • 5 cP = 0.005 Pa·s
  • 10 cP = 0.01 Pa·s
  • 50 cP = 0.05 Pa·s
  • 100 cP = 0.1 Pa·s

Multiply the number of centipoise by 0.001 to get pascal seconds. Both units are exact definitions, so 0.001 is the exact factor: 1 cP = 0.001 Pa·s.

Limitations

  • Converts the unit of a dynamic viscosity only. For kinematic viscosity (cSt, m²/s) use the kinematic viscosity converter.
  • Converting between dynamic and kinematic viscosity needs the fluid density, which is not part of this page.
