What this tool does
Convert minutes to and from other time units including seconds, hours, days, and weeks. Type an amount in minutes, choose the units, and the tool converts it to hours. It offers 6 time units and also shows the same amount in the others.
Inputs
- Value: A number.
- From: Choose one: Millisecond, Second, Minute, Hour, Day, Week. Starts as Minute.
- To: Choose one of the same 6 units as "From". Starts as Hour.
How to use
- Enter the amount you want to convert.
- Choose the unit to convert from and the unit to convert to.
- Read the result: the converted amount and the same amount in the other units. It appears once every required field has a valid value.
Worked examples
Conversions from minutes to hours:
- 1 min ≈ 0.0166667 h
- 5 min ≈ 0.0833333 h
- 10 min ≈ 0.166667 h
- 50 min ≈ 0.833333 h
- 100 min ≈ 1.666667 h
Multiply the number of minutes by about 0.0166667 to get hours. The factor follows from exact definitions. It has more digits than fit here, so it is shown rounded.

Limitations
- Converts a length of time between units. It does not work out the time between two calendar dates.

- Q: How many hours are in one minute?
- A: One minute is 1/60 of an hour, about 0.0167 hours. Change the From and To boxes to convert any other pair of units.
- Q: Can I convert the other way, from hours to minutes?
- A: Yes. Swap the From and To units. One hour is 60 minutes.
