What this tool does
Convert microseconds to and from nanoseconds, milliseconds, seconds, and other time units. Type an amount in microseconds, choose the units, and the tool converts it to seconds. It offers 6 time units and also shows the same amount in the others.

- From: Choose one: Nanosecond, Microsecond, Millisecond, Second, Minute, Hour. Starts as Microsecond.
- To: Choose one of the same 6 units as "From". Starts as Second.
How to use
- Enter the amount you want to convert.
- Choose the unit to convert from and the unit to convert to.
- Read the result: the converted amount and the same amount in the other units. It appears once every required field has a valid value.
Worked examples
Conversions from microseconds to seconds:
- 1 µs = 0.000001 s
- 5 µs = 0.000005 s
- 10 µs = 0.00001 s
- 50 µs = 0.00005 s
- 100 µs = 0.0001 s
Multiply the number of microseconds by 0.000001 to get seconds. Both units are exact definitions, so 0.000001 is the exact factor: 1 µs = 0.000001 s.

Limitations
- Converts a length of time between units. It does not work out the time between two calendar dates.
FAQs
- Q: How many seconds are in one microsecond?
- A: One microsecond is 0.000001 seconds, one millionth of a second. Change the From and To boxes to convert any other pair of units.
- Q: Can I convert the other way, from seconds to microseconds?
- A: Yes. Swap the From and To units. One second is 1,000,000 microseconds.
