HEIC to JPG Converter

Convert iPhone and iPad photos (HEIC/HEIF) to standard JPG format instantly. Essential for viewing Apple photos on Windows or uploading them to forms that don't support HEIC.

What is HEIC and why convert it?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads running iOS 11 and later. It uses the HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format) standard to store images at roughly half the file size of JPG while maintaining the same visual quality.

The problem is compatibility. Windows PCs, many websites, online forms, email attachments, and older software cannot open HEIC files. When you transfer photos from your iPhone to a Windows computer or try to upload them to a site that only accepts JPG or PNG, you hit a wall. This converter solves that instantly.

How the conversion works

This tool decodes the HEIC/HEIF container in your browser, then re-encodes the image data as a standard JPEG file. You can control the output quality from 10% (smallest file size) to 100% (highest quality, largest file).

**All processing happens locally.** Your photos never leave your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server. The conversion uses the heic2any JavaScript library running entirely in your browser.

When to use this converter

- **Uploading to websites** that reject HEIC files (job applications, insurance claims, social media) - **Sharing with Windows users** who cannot open your iPhone photos - **Email attachments** where recipients may not have HEIC support - **Printing services** that require JPG or PNG uploads - **Editing in older software** like Photoshop CS6 or Paint that lack HEIC support - **Archiving photos** in a universally compatible format

Supported formats

**Input:** HEIC and HEIF files (the standard photo formats from Apple devices)

**Output:** JPG (JPEG) with adjustable quality from 10% to 100%

You can convert multiple files at once. Simply drop all your HEIC files into the upload area and they will be batch converted with a single click.

Tips for best results

- **Quality 92%** (the default) gives an excellent balance of file size and image quality for most uses - **Quality 80-85%** works well for web uploads where file size matters more than pixel-perfect quality - **Quality 100%** preserves maximum detail but produces larger files than the original HEIC in most cases - **Quality below 50%** introduces visible compression artifacts and is rarely recommended

Privacy and security

This converter runs entirely in your browser. Your photos are processed using JavaScript on your own device and are never sent to any external server. Once you close or refresh the page, all temporary data is cleared from memory.
