Limitations
- Converts the unit only. It does not convert between gauge and absolute pressure.
- The result is gauge or absolute according to what you entered.
FAQs
- Q: What is the difference between psi and psig?
- A: Psig is psi measured relative to the surrounding air pressure (gauge pressure). Psia is measured from a perfect vacuum. This converter changes units only, so bar gauge converts to psig and bar absolute to psia with the same factor.
- Q: How many psi is one bar?
- A: One bar is about 14.504 psi.
- Q: Does this add atmospheric pressure to convert gauge to absolute?
- A: No. It converts the unit and leaves the reference point alone. Add or subtract atmospheric pressure yourself if you need to change between gauge and absolute.
